Life in Walnut Creek, Lafayette and surrounding areas: September 2008

One of the most challenging situations we face is trying to convince our aging loved ones that they can no longer live in their homes alone.  I have personally been through this with both my parents and my Mother-in-Law.  It's hard for them to recognize their own limitations.  Their strong minds believe they are doing just fine...but their fragile and aging bodies just aren't keeping up!  Their home becomes a prison and they are held captive because it is not functional to their aging needs.  Well...thank goodness for Assisted Living where they can get the assistance and care they need to live a fulfilling, engaging and social life.  Getting them there is the tough part...watching them engage, adapt and perk up is the reward!

If you are...or have been faced with this challenging situation, please feel free to share!  My heart goes out to you as I know it's a very emotional drain on both you and your loved one!  The following video is a tour of a terrific facility we found for my Mother-in-Law.  It's located in Walnut Creek and very close to Rossmoor...which was important to her since most her friends are there.  Enjoy!

Welcome to Lafayette, California!  Living in the prime communities of the East Bay NEVER lacks of outdoor activities and family fun!  This weekend was the Lafayette's 13th Annual Art and Wine Festival.  The weather was ideal and all members of the family enjoyed this spectacular event.

It provides information on home prices, price ranges, percentages and average days on the market.  Information was gathered from the CCAR's MLS effective through Sept. 18, 2008

It was my pleasure to organize and sponsor the 2nd Annual Community Garage Sale for the Walnut Green Homeowners located in Walnut Creek, CA.  This is such a great community located in the Northgate area of Walnut Creek.  You can tell from the participants that it is a close-knit and family-oriented community.
