Noritz Tankless Water Heater...video interview with our contractor who installed the unit.
When it's time to replace your tank-style water heater, you may want to consider replacing it with a tankless one. There are many models/manufacturers out there so it's important to do your research ahead of time. We chose the Noritz unit as it was recommended by our local plumbing supply store and because of it's energy and space saving benefits. You may qualify for a Federal Tax credit of 30% of costs/installation up to $1500.00. To learn more about the tankless water heater, you can visit the Noritz website.
This video is a short interview with John Holman, Holmans Construction (CA Licensed contractor) in which we discuss some of the features, benefits and considerations when installing a tankless water heater.

We put in a tankless water heater when we did our kitchen remodel. I was able to open a pantry by having the water heater removed, too. It was expensive because we had to run a new copper line from the gas meter on the other side of the house to our back yard. I believe it was in the neighborhood of $3,000 to $3,500. I think some people shy away from tankless because to replace an existing water heater is about $750. But I like the energy savings and the fact we're not constantly keeping 40 gallons of water hot when we're not using it. Well, that, and I always get a full bathtub of hot water, even if we're doing laundry and running the dishwasher at the same time.
Elizabeth - thanks for commenting and glad to see you like your tankless too. In the long run, it should pay for itself!
Hi Terri! What a great way to introduce John! I'll bet he was pleased... I would love a tankless water heater... just waiting till it's time to replace our old one! Thanks for info - very helpful!
Terri, my sister just got one installed in her house and loves it. She said the only problem is that it tends to run cold for a longer time (and more gallons of water) than a traditional hot water heater.
